Several business houses have not only dominated in India but have also maintained prestige abroad. The Wadia Group is the oldest business house in India, dating back to 1736. With 288 years of successful trading, the group has reached a pinnacle in the textiles, aviation, and food sectors.

Under its banner, Britannia Industries and Bombay Dyeing have established strong reputations. Britannia is regarded as a leading brand in the food segment, while Bombay Dyeing is synonymous with quality in textiles.  

Lowji Nusserwanji Wadia founded the Wadia Group, initially focusing on shipbuilding. Today, Nusli Wadia leads the group, which has a net worth of ₹600 billion. The Wadia Group has solidified its position in the corporate world, maintaining its esteemed reputation through innovation and high-quality standards. Additionally, the group owns the IPL team Kings XI Punjab.

In 1863, the Wadia Group founded The Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Limited, which became India’s first trading company. Later, the group established Bombay Dyeing in 1879 and Britannia Industries in 1918.

The Wadia family belongs to the Parsi community. Nusli Wadia was born on February 15, 1944, and is the son of Neville Wadia and Dina Wadia. Dina Wadia was the daughter of Pakistan’s founder, Mohammed Ali Jinnah. Nusli Wadia has two sons, Ness Wadia and Jehangir Wadia, who are currently managing the business.
