New Delhi, Oct 16: Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma may contest the upcoming Assembly election in Himachal Pradesh on Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket.
Speculations about Aayush Sharma, husband of Salman Khan’s sister Arpita, joining politics gathered momentum after his father Anil Sharma joined the BJP on Sunday. Sharma, son of former Union Communication Minister Sukhram, was a minister in the Virbhadra Singh government and considered close to the CM.
“I have quit the Himachal cabinet and joined the BJP today. I have been given BJP ticket from Mandi and the party has informed me about this,” Anil Sharma said.
When asked about whether his son Ayush will also contesting the November 7 election, Anil Sharma said it was for the BJP to decide.
The former minister alleged that Congress sidelined him and his father despite serving the party for long. He alleged that the AICC General Secretary had invited Sukh Ram to attend the rally of Rahul Gandhi in Mandi but when he reached the spot, he was asked not to attend the rally.
“I was not included in any of the committees for the assembly polls and when I asked about this from HPCC president, he said that my name was deleted at the higher level which hurt me and I decided to quit,” he said.
Salman to Launch Aayush in Bollywood
Whether Aayush Sharma will join politics or not is yet to be confirmed, but superstar Salman Khan has already announced that he will launch him in the Bollywood.
The yet-to-be titled film is being produced by Salman Khan’s production house. Yes, we are producing Aayush’s debut film. Shooting will start in February and we’ll release the film later in 2018,” Salman told Bombay Times.
The film is said to be a love story based in Gujarat.
