Mangaluru, March 11: Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik and all others accused in 2009 Mangaluru pub attack case were acquitted of all charges on Monday due to lack of evidence. The order was passed by 3rd Judicial Magistrate of First Class Court in Mangaluru.
Over 30 people, all members of the right-wing organisation were reportedly acquitted in the 2009 pub attack case.
Reacting over the verdict, Muthalik said,”It is the victory of truth.” Speaking to reporters, outside the JMFC court, Sri Ram Sene chief said, “We believe that this is a triumph of victory. Cases under some 10 sections were filed against us and we have emerged victorious today.”
On January 24, 2009, a group of 40 activists allegedly belonging to Sri Ram Sene had barged into the pub ‘Amnesia – The Lounge’ and dragged women by their hair claiming they were violating traditional Indian values.
