7th Pay Commission Latest News Today: In a major boost to the employees of Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd (KTCL), the Goa government on Friday announced the implementation of 7th Pay Commission. The decision was welcomed by the Goa Government Employees’ Association (GGEA). The move comes at a time when over 50 lakh Central Government employees are waiting for a hike in minimum pay and fitment factor beyond 7th Central Pay Commission or 7th CPC recommendations.

On Friday, GGEA President John Nazareth reportedly announced that the decision to implement 7th Pay Commission will boost the salaries of over 2,000 KTCL employees.

Meanwhile, a report has claimed that the Central Government employees will too get to hear a good news sometime soon. The salaries of the CG employees are likely to be increased in March, 2019. However, an official confirmation on the same is yet awaited.

If a report is to be believed, the Central Government employees may get a hike in the dearness allowance (DA) in the month of March in 2019. The hike would take up the DA from the current 9 per cent to 11 per cent, OneIndia claimed. Notably, the DA for the CG employees was hiked by 2 per cent back in August this year. Earlier, it was 7 per cent and currently it is 9 per cent.

The Central Government employees are demanding a hike of Rs 8,000 which will take up their salaries to Rs 26,000. Furthermore, they are also seeking a hike in the fitment factor, from 2.57 times to 3.68 times.

The claims of salary hike for the Central Government employees comes at a time when Minister of Finance (MoS) P Radhakrishnan in March had made it clear that the Centre is not considering a raise the minimum pay and fitment factor of 50 lakh Central Government beyond 7th Pay Commission recommendations.
