7th Pay Commission Latest News: The Central Government employees who have been waiting for a hike in minimum pay and fitment factor beyond 7th Pay Commission recommendations have been given yet another benefit by the Centre. In a good news, the Centre has extended the LTC benefits for the Central Government employees for two years, with effect from Wednesday, September 26.

An official release by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) stated that the LTC benefits scheme for Central Government employees has been extended for two years. The LTC benefits scheme allows Central government employees to enjoy concession on travel by air to North East, Jammu and Kashmir and Andaman and Nikobar.
“…the scheme allowing government servants to travel by air to North East Region (NER), Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and Andaman & Nikobar Islands (A&N) is extended for a further period of two years, w.e.f. 26th September 2018 till 25th September 2020 as under: 1. “LTC for visiting NER, J&K and A&N in lieu of a Home Town LTC.”; 2.” Facility for air journey to non-entitled Government servants for NER, J&K and A&N.”; 3. “Permission to undertake journey to J&K, NER and A&N by private airlines,” said the notice dated 20-09-2018.
Meanwhile, the Haryana government is not too far behind the Centre in bringing smiles on the faces of its employees. As per reports, the state has declared a two per cent increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) on the revised pay scale of the employees, with effect from July 1, 2018. The pay hike which was announced as a Diwali gift for its employees will cost an additional Rs 182.80 crore for the government from July 1, 2018, to February 2019 in the financial year 2018-19.
As far as the Central Government employees hoping for a hike in minimum pay and fitment factor beyond 7th CPC recommendations are concerned, the Minister of Finance (MoS) P Radhakrishnan, in March, had declared that the Centre is not considering a raise the minimum pay and fitment factor of 50 lakh Central Government employees and retirees beyond 7th Pay Commission recommendations.
