However, the Prime Minister termed his call an ‘attempt to show coronavirus’, the strength of Indian unity and ‘light’.

Some folks also believed that his move was more symbolic and was very much needed in these testing times as it will make country aware of its unity amid ongoing 21-day lockdown. Besides, it will also help people in getting rid of feeling of being isolated in these testing times.

Notably, the country has been on lockdown since March 24 this might be taking a toll on people’s mental health. Earlier, WHO had also warned that the coronavirus crisis and the restrictive measures that many countries are taking can have a negative impact on people’s mental health and well-being.

This time, the Prime Minister also stressed on ‘social distancing’ after some people hit the streets to clang utensils during the Janta curfew on March 22.  Modi appealed to citizens to respect the lockdown orders and not venture out at anytime. He reminded them once more that social distancing is the only way to flatten the graph of spiking cases across the nation despite all efforts.
