New Delhi, December 14: The Narendra Modi government has called an all-party meeting on Thursday in Parliament Library to prepare the strategy for the Winter Session of Parliament. The session will be held from December 15, 2017 to January 5, 2018.
The Parliamentary Affairs Ministry has sent out invites to the leaders of major political parties that have representatives in both Houses of Parliament for the meet.
The much-delayed Winter Session of Parliament will have 14 sittings. December 25, 26 will be Christmas holidays during the session.
The opposition leaders will also hold a separate meeting in senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad’s office in Parliament, a day before the session would commence.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will also host a dinner for the leaders of all parties tomorrow.
The upcoming session of Parliament is expected to witness heavy fireworks as the Congress would try to corner the Narendra Modi government over a range of issues. The Congress, which has described the Goods and Services Tax (GST) as a hasty step, is expected to come out hard at the BJP government over the issue. Congress President-elect Rahul Gandhi is also expected to launch multi-pronged attack on the Modi government.
