Aadhar card verification: With the rise in importance and usage of UIDAI authorised Aadhar card, the crime associated with it have also increased by leaps and bounds. Therefore, in order to control the rising cases of fraud using fake Aadhaar cards, where criminals use cloned or tampered Aadhaar details to take loans, get SIM cards, or commit identity theft, the Modi government has taken a massive step. Here are all the details you should know about identifying a fake Aadhar card.

What is the new tool for Aadhar verification?

You must have noticed that many people around yourself  find out about the unauthorized loans or suspicious activities linked to their Aadhaar after its too late. To tackle this, UIDAI has introduced improved security features like a secure QR code on Aadhaar cards.

As a part of the new move, users can scan this QR code using the official UIDAI QR Scanner app to instantly verify details such as name, date of birth, and photo. If the information doesn’t match or the QR code is missing, the Aadhaar card may be fake.

UIDAI accesses 1.55 crore death records to deactivate Aadhaar numbers

In another significant update aimed at maintaining continued accuracy and integrity of the Aadhaar database, UIDAI has accessed 1.55 crore death records with the Registrar General of India for deactivating Aadhaar numbers of deceased persons, the Ministry of Electronics and IT said on Wednesday.

How Aadhar deletion will prevent frauds?

In order to prevent unauthorised usage of the Aadhaar number of any family member after their death, it is recommended that Aadhaar number holders report the death of their family members on the myAadhaar Portal after obtaining their death certificate from the death registering authorities, a statement said. Notably, no Aadhaar number is ever reassigned to another individual.

However, in case of the death of a person, it is essential that his or her Aadhaar number is deactivated to prevent identity fraud and unauthorised usage of such Aadhaar number, the statement explained.
