Mumbai, July 4: Bollywood stalwart Aamir Khan could now end up upsetting zealots within Muslim fraternity with his defence of the contentious statements made by revered actor Irrfan Khan. “Religion is a personal thing, he has a right to his opinion,” Aamir Khan said while addressing a press conference related to his upcoming movie Dangal. A couple of days back Irrfan Khan stoked a controversy by questioning the concept of slaughtering animals during Bakra Eid. “Sacrifice is something which you give up, despite having a close bond with it. The comments of Irrfan created a row on social media, with Muslim seeking an apology from him. Islamic clerics denounced his statements, and advised him to remain concerned with only “his Bollywood” and not comment in religious matters of the community.

Interestingly, the opinion given by Aamir on the issue could bring flak towards him as well. The last controversial topic which Aamir chose to speak was on the issue of ‘intolerance’. It ended up costing him the brand ambassadorship of ‘Incredible India’.
