New Delhi, October 28: The Supreme Court on Friday heard a plea by the Bihar Government challenging the bail granted by the Patna High Court to Rocky Yadav in the Aditya Sachdeva road rage case. The Supreme Court stayed suspended JDU leader Manorama Devi’s son Rocky Yadav’s bail. As a result of this, Rocky Yadav will now have to go back to jail. Rocky Yadav has been accused of killing of Aditya Sachdeva in a road rage case in Gaya on May 7.
Rakesh Ranjan Yadav who also goes by the name of Rocky is the son of suspended Janata Dal (United) MLC Manorama Devi. Yadav was granted bail by the Patna High Court on October 19. The accused Yadav, was arrested from his father Bindi Yadav’s mixer plant in Gaya on May 10 by the Bihar police.
19-year-old Aditya Sachdeva was driving home with his friends in a Maruti Swift. At the same time, Rocky Yadav, who was driving a Land Rover, was enraged at being overtaken by the smaller car. This made him fire a warning shot in the air. This forced Aditya Sachdeva and his friends, who were driving in the car with him, to a stop. It was then that Yadav again fired. This time the bullet pierced the car’s windshield and delivered a killing blow to Sachdeva.
According to reports, Nasir Husain, one of the four school boys who was riding with Aditya Sachdeva, said that Rocky Yadav had beat him up before firing the bullet that killed Aditya. Hussain said, “The guy with the pistol, who had said ‘either you stop or we will shoot you’, started beating me. He said ‘My name’s Rocky Yadav.’ Blood was running from my nose because of the beating.”
Another person who has testified against Rocky Yadav is his bodyguard, Rajesh Kumar. Kumar has also told the police that the young man bragged of his family’s clout during the assault.”Rocky babu started beating the guys sitting in the Swift, saying, ‘Don’t you know I’m the son of Bindi Yadav?’ The Swift driver tried to race away, but Rocky was trying to drag him out of the car and the driver lost his balance. Then Rocky fired and this time, the bullet hit the rear windshield,” Kumar revealed to the court.
