New Delhi: The Indian Air Force on Saturday said in a statement that the Aero India 2019 will continue as scheduled for the fifth day, adding that people should not pay heed to the rumours.
Indian Air Force PRO Anupam Banerjee told News agency ANI, “Aero show will continue as scheduled for the 5th day. People should not pay heed to rumours.”
This statement by the Indian Air Force comes in the wake of a major fire which broke out a few hours ago in the parking area of the Aero Show 2019 venue. Nearly 300 cars were gutted in the blaze near the venue, a police official tweeted. The fire is fully extinguished now. No casualties were reported. Notably, today is the fourth day of the Aero India 2019 air show.
Aero India is a biennial air show and aviation exhibition held in Bengaluru at the Yelahanka Air Force Station. It is organised by the Defence Exhibition Organisation under the Ministry of Defence.
Aero India 2019 began from February 20 and will go on till February 24. The defence exhibition is seeing the participation of top fighter-jet manufacturers, defence equipment makers and companies related to the sector. All activities related to Aero India 2019 have been made online — be it booking of tickets or selection of space for stalls, an official said.
