After Burari, Five of a Family Try to Commit Suicide in Mumbai’s Raigarh

Mumbai, July 4: A few days after 11 members of a family were found hanging in their home in Delhi’s Burari, a family of five tried to commit suicide at their home in Mumbai’s Raigarh. The reason behind the family’s decision to take the step hasn’t been revealed yet.

The members of the family tried to commit suicide by drinking poison in their cold drinks. All the five members of the family were shifted to a nearby hospital in Alibaug district of Mumbai.

On July 1, a total of 11 members of a family were found hanging from the ceiling of their house in Delhi’s Burari area. The 11 members of the family include seven women and four men, news agency ANI reported.

While 10 of the 11 bodies were found hanging, blindfolded and gagged, that of 75-year-old woman’s was found lying on the floor.

Bodies of seven women and four men, including three teenagers have been found. We are investigating from all possible angles, we are not ruling out anything,” said Rajesh Khurana, Joint CP Central Range, Delhi Police.

The 11 members have been identified as 75-year-old woman Narayan, 60-year-old Partibha, 30-year-old Priyanka, 46-year-old Bhupi, 42-year-old Savita, 24-year-old Nitu, 22-year-old Meenu, 12-year-old Dhiru, 42-year-old Lalit, 12-year-old Shivam and 38-year-old Tina.
