New Delhi: After scoring a landslide victory in the national capital, the Aam Aadmi Party is planning to launch a nationwide campaign from February 23 to March 23 to connect with 1 crore people as part of the expansion plan, party’s leader Gopal Rai said on Sunday. AAP leader Manish Sisodia along with five other party leaders on Sunday took oath as ministers of the Delhi government cabinet at Ramlila Maidan here, after the party managed to secure a landslide victory in Assembly polls. Earlier in the day, Manish Sisodia, Satyender Jain, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain, and Rajendra Gautama took oath as ministers by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.



Overjoyed by the victory, the AAP has earlier said that it had decided to contest all elections to local bodies across the country as part of an ambitious plan to expand its footprint beyond the national capital.

“The party has convened a meeting of its national executive to deliberate on expanding the party by projecting its positive nationalism,” Gopal Rai said had earlier told PTI.

In the Delhi Assembly Election 2020, the AAP scored a massive victory by winning 62 seats. The BJP marginally improved its tally, managing just eight seats and the Congress failed to open its account, just like last time.

Saying that the party will contest assembly elections in a number of states including Punjab in the first phase, Rai said that the objective is to expand tje organisation at the national level by including volunteers in large numbers and building party cadre across the country.
