New Delhi: An engineering student was allegedly gang-raped by four men at a remote area in Agra after she was abducted by them. The incident occurred at Bhagwan Talkies crossing on the National Highway on Tuesday evening, police said. Two of the culprits have been arrested.

A case has been registered under section 376 D (rape by one or more persons constituting a group) of the Indian Penal Code. Police added that search operations were underway to nab the other two accused. A complaint was filed by the victim’s parents on Tuesday night at the New Agra police station, said Superintendent of Police (city) Prashant Verma.

As per the FIR, the woman was heading to her computer coaching class. As she reached a busy intersection at around 5 PM on Tuesday, she was waylaid by two of the accused who forced her to sit between them on her two-wheeler, stated a report by Hindustan Times. While they drove the vehicle to Poiya ghat in Agra, the other two accused rode their own motorcycle and reached the place where the incident occurred, claimed the victim’s father.

The victim was found injured in the area. The passerby who saw the woman immediately took her to a hospital where she was put in the emergency ward, stated the police. She has been admitted to SN Medical College hospital for a medical examination and the report is not ready yet, said the police.

Meanwhile, after conducting investigations and talks with the family of the victim, police said the identity of the other two accused has been ascertained. They belong to Bahadurpur and are supposed to be in their mid-twenties.
