Ahmedabad: A fire broke out inside the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Friday. At least five fire tenders are at the spot to control the blaze.

Earlier in the day, at five persons succumbed to death after a major fire broke out at a high-rise in Tilak Nagar area of Mumbai’s Chembur. The parents of a policeman are also among the deceased. Two others, including a fireman, are reportedly injured in the incident. At least eight fire tenders, one water tanker and ambulances were rushed to the spot to check the blaze.

The 16-storey building, where the blaze erupted, is located in suburban Tilak Nagar. The fire was doused late on Thursday night and cooling down operations by the Mumbai Fire Brigade were carried out on Friday morning.

On Thursday evening, a fire broke out between Rabindra Sadan and Maidan metro station in Kolkata that affected the train services and left several passengers injured. At least 42 passengers were rushed to SSKM Hospital while five were taken to Calcutta Medical College and Hospital. Passengers claimed they kept calling the helpline number, but the rescue team only reached much later.
