Gandhinagar: At least one person on Friday died, while 35 others were injured after a massive fire broke out at Ganesh building in Ahmedabad. Ganesh Genesis is an 11-storeyed residential building. It is located in Jagatpur-Gota near Nirma University. The fourth and fifth floors of the building reportedly caught fire and the fire-fighters have successfully brought the fire under control. Rescue operations were undertaken soon after the incident with the help of fire tenders. A report by a leading daily quoted Chief Fire Officer MF Dastoor as saying, “People residing on the floors above the fifth one got stranded as smoke filled the stairway. It was a difficult operation, but we rescued seven persons, who suffered injuries in the incident.
