“Laluji is not well, he is still seriously ill. I met him last week and saw his bad health condition. It is surprising why Laluji has been shifted from AIIMS to a Ranchi hospital. Everyone knows AIIMS is best for treatment for Laluji who is suffering from several serious diseases. Depriving him of proper treatment is part of a conspiracy to kill my father,” Tejashwi, a former Deputy Chief Minister and younger son of Lalu Prasad, told the media, adding that there was political pressure on AIIMS to deprive him of proper treatment.

“RJD will go to the people’s court to say that Laluji has been denied proper treatment as part of a conspiracy by those in power in Delhi,”the former Bihar Deputy CM said.

Earlier in the day, a controversy erupted over RJD supremo discharge certificate. The hospital in a statement had said that Lalu is being referred back to Ranchi Medical College as his condition has improved significantly. “Lalu Prasad Yadav was referred to AIIMS for management of his acute medical condition. He has improved significantly and is being referred back to Ranchi Medical College for management of his chronic issues,” the statement said.

On the other hand,  Lalu Prasad alleged that the move to shift him from AIIMS to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences RIMS in Ranchi was a “conspiracy”. Calling the move unjust, Lalu stated that he was being shifted to a place where there were no facilities.  Speaking to the media, he said, “This is unjust, it is a conspiracy to deteriorate my health. I am being shifted to a place where there are no facilities. It is a tough time, but I will face it.”

Yadav was taken to AIIMS on March 29. He is undergoing treatment for various ailments related to the heart and kidney. Earlier he was admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Science in Ranchi on March 17 after he complained of uneasiness at Birsa Munda jail.

Notably, Lalu has been in the jail at Ranchi since December 23, 2017, after being convicted in the  Deogarh treasury case. On March 24, the special CBI court in Ranchi had sentenced him to 14 years in prison  seven under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and seven under the Prevention of Corruption Act in Dumka Treasury Case, one of the four cases in the Fodder Scam. Dumka treasury case is related to alleged withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from the Dumka treasury when Prasad was the chief minister of Bihar.
