Hyderabad, Dec 20: The floor leader of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and younger brother of Asaduddin Owaisi, Akbaruddin Owaisi lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his demonetisation drive in Telangana Assembly. Akbaruddin Owaisi, during the Question Hour, slammed the Narendra Modi-government on demonetisation, saying it has caused adverse impact on exchequers, according to a report of Siasat Daily. The junior Owaisi said the note ban has resulted in the loss of Rs 3000 crore to Telangana but the government is not revealing it. The AIMIM MLA shot asked several question on implications of demonetisation, reduction in income, downfall in State revenue, scholarship and fees reimbursement, Aasara pensions and other welfare schemes. Akbaruddin Owaisi also criticised the Telangana government for not releasing funds to Minorities during 2016-17. The Finance Minister Etela Rajender, however, said there was no fall in the State revenues and funds for scholarships. A dissatisfied Akbaruddin Owaisi later staged a walkout from the Assembly. Leader of the Opposition Jana Reddy too followed suit, saying the Finance Minister failed to give convincing reply. On the first day of the Winter Session of Telangana Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi had warned Chief Minister and TRS leader K Chandrasekhar Rao against supporting demonetisation. Owaisi said the demonetisation decision is against the Constitution and suggested that the Telangana government should not support it blindly.
