New Delhi, August 10: The Special Cell of the Delhi police has arrested an Al Qaeda operative as he was trying to flee India. The name of the alleged terrorist is Raza-ul-Haq and he was trying to escape to Nepal to evade Indian law enforcement agencies. West Bengal police have taken the custody of the accused. The accused is associated with the Bengal module of the terror outfit. Last week, the UP ATS had also arrested a suspect from the Bengal module.

Ansar Bangla is a terror group involved in the killings of Hindu priests in Bangladesh. According to early reports, Raza-ul-Haq was involved in fake currency racket. Apart from investigating his role, the agencies are also trying to ascertain whether they received help from locals in acquiring fake passports and Aadhaar cards.
This is not the first such arrest. Uttar Pradesh ATS had apprehended Bangladeshi terrorist Abdullah in Deoband. His accomplice Faizan had managed to escape. The ATS had recovered Jihadi literature, a manual for making bombs, and ISIS chief Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi’s manifesto.
