Violating Covid-19 guidelines, a huge ‘Kalash Yatra’ was organised by Bhartiya Janata Party in Indore on Tuesday to honour Madhya Pradesh cabinet minister Tulsi Silawat. Notably, Tulsi Silawat is contesting from the Sanwer constituency in the upcoming State Assembly by-poll.
A video of the incident has been caught on camera, showing people celebrating and dancing during the Kalash Yatra, defying guidelines. Thousands of women participated in this yatra by placing the urn on the head, without wearing a mask.

After the incident, Indore Collector has talked about lodging the FIR against women participating in the rally, Times Now reported.
“I have instructed the SDM to file FIR for the violations of COVID norms. All those who were involved in organising the event will also face action,” said Indore Collector Manish Singh.
Meanwhile, after the video went viral, BJP leader Rajesh Sonkar said that the permission for the Kalash Yatra was taken from the administration.
With the detection of 295 fresh infections, Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district on Tuesday recorded a highest single-day spike in Covid-19 cases that has taken its tally to 15,165.
