New Delhi, August 24: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah on Thursday appointed Union finance and defence minister Arun Jaitley as the BJP-In charge in Gujarat Vidhan Sabha elections. He also appointed Union minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar as the election in charge in Karnataka. Thawar Chand Gehlot has been given the responsibility of Himachal Pradesh election.
The BJP chief also appointed Narendra Singh Tomar. Jitendra Singha, Nirmala Sitaraman and PP Chaudhary to look over the election in Gujarat scheduled for early 2018. In Karnataka, Piyush Goyal will help Javadekar to overlook the polls which will be held sometime in mid 2018. The term of the Gujarat Vidhan Sabha comes to an end on January 22, 2018, while in Karnataka it comes to an end on May 28, 2018.
