New Delhi: Congress MP BK Hariparasad on Friday asserted that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah is not admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi due to swine flu. He also added that he has a report which further cemented his claim. Also Read - BJP Team Reshuffle: 'Served For 40 Years & Got Shunted Out': Bengal Leader Rahul Sinha Hints at Rebellion
“We have a report that he (Amit Shah) doesn’t have any flu, we also know people in AIIMS, they said he is not admitted because of the flu. Let me get the facts then I will get back to you,” he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI. This is not the first time that the Congress leader has taken a jibe against Amit Shah, since the day he was diagnosed with swine flu. Earlier, Rajya Sabha member Hariprasad, in Bengaluru, had mocked the BJP president over his health condition, saying he contracted swine flu since his party made an alleged bid to destabilise the Congress-JD(S) government in Karnataka. “As a few legislators have already come back, Amit Shah is shaken and has got a fever. It is not a normal fever. It is swine flu,” Hariprasad had said in Kannada. Adding further, he had quipped, “You should know that if you try to destabilise the Karnataka government, not just swine flu, you will get vomiting and dysentery also.”
While, the Congress distanced itself from Hariprasad’s comment, the BJP hit back at the leader saying that at least flu is curable but “mental illness” of the Opposition party’s leaders would be difficult to treat.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal said, “The kind of ugly and indecent comments Congress MP BK Hariprasad has made about BJP President Amit Shah’s health show the standards of the party. Flu is curable but it is difficult to cure Congress leaders’ mental illness.”
On the other hand, Cabinet ministers Rajyavardhan Rathore and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi too took a dig at the Congress MP over his ‘completely abhorrent and ugly statement’.
Amit Shah was diagnosed with swine flu and admitted to AIIMS Delhi on Wednesday. He had informed people about his illness through Twitter.
