“Amit Shah ji today in his effective response dispelled all misgivings about CAA and NPR,” Prasad said. He also stated that Opposition, including the Congress, should now stop spreading their untruth and false narrative over CAA and NPR.

While replying to discussions in Rajya Sabha, Amit Shah talked about the National Population Register and said that no document will be sought for updating the NPR. He also said that giving some additional information has also been made optional.

He also assured the members in the House that no one needs to fear about the NPR as no one will be marked doubtful in the updating process.

“I am again repeating that no documents will be needed for the National Population Register (NPR). All the information asked is optional. Nobody has to fear from the process of NPR. There will be no ‘D’ (doubtful) category,” he said.

Saying that a false propaganda has been spread on the issue of CAA, he said that the legislation will not take away anyone’s citizenship.

“I reiterate to my Muslim brothers and sisters that false propaganda is being spread on the issue of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). This Act is not to take anyone’s citizenship but to give citizenship,” he added.
