The great trio of Bollywood—Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Nawazudin Siddiqui—will grace our screens in what looks like an intense, gripping thriller, “TE3N.”

Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, the movie is a remake of the 2013 Korean film “Montage.” Bachchan plays John Biswas, a man agonized by his granddaughter Angela’s kidnapping eight years ago. He visits the police station every day only to get ignored by everyone—except Balan’s character, Sarita Sarkar. Biswas also looks to Siddiqui’s Martin Das for help. Das is an ex-cop turned priest who was also deeply impacted by Angela’s kidnapping. Biswas wants to find the culprit, no matter what it takes.

The tables finally start to turn when in the present, eight years after the first crime, a similar pattern emerges—the same horrible fate starts unfolding with another child being kidnapped. The similarities between the two cases are uncanny and they drag our three leads on a chase to find the criminal. The movie promises to bring the two parallel cases together and will conclude in an explosive, emotional end.

Just based on the trailer itself, the acting looks top-notch from all the leads, especially Bachchan. He transforms his look, and perfectly embodies the part of a broken old man on a quest for what seems like unattainable justice. Bachchan has the ability to use subtle expressions and movements to deliver his signature best acting—and he surely brings his A-game here. Balan and Siddiqui look excellent too—in fact, if this movie is anything like “Kahaani,” a film that also featured Balan and was directed by Sujoy Ghosh (a producer on this movie) count us in for the ride.

“TE3N,” which was supposed to release on May 20, will now release June 10 to avoid a box-office clash with “Sarabjit,” which stars Bachchan’s daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
