New Delhi: In a harrowing incident reported from Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district, a 32-year-old pregnant Hindi teacher bled to death while attending a workshop she had requested to be excused from.

The three months pregnant Sri Chaitanya School teacher is reported to have requested for a leave on the day of the workshop due to ill health- but it was turned down.

Reportedly, she fell sick while attending the seminar on the third day, fainted and then started to bleed profusely. The school management rushed her to the hospital but she was pronounced brought dead- due to severe blood loss.

The woman had miscarried and died due to excess bleeding on the way.

Some reports suggest that the woman was the sole breadwinner in the family and was survived by her husband and son.

In a report by The News Minute, the state convener of Private Teachers and Lecturers Union (PTLU) Chand Basha said, “She was threatened by the school management that she would be fired from her job if she failed to attend the workshop. She was compelled to attend the workshop in spite of her health issues.”

No police complaint was filed at the time of publishing this story.
