New Delhi,December 24 : In what could be another case of political murder, the Police on Thursday arrested Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) leader Angad Yadav for his involvement in the murder of Congressmen and senior lawyer Rajnarayan Singh in Azamgarh. Congress leader and senior lawyer Rajnarayan Singh was shot dead by miscreants while he was on morning walk in Azamgarh on Saturday. His family had lodged an FIR against a former BSP minister and four others. no arrests had been made until today. Also Read - 'Where is Oppn unity happening', asks Ram Madhav
According to reports, Singh is resident of Sidhari area in Azamgarh and was going about with his routine walk when three unknown gunmen on a motorcycle openly attacked him firing indiscriminately and fled from the scene. Singh was rushed to the hospital, where scores of his supporters and locals assembled and raised slogans. As chairman of the cooperative cell of the Congress, Singh was quite popular amongst the people in the area.
Earlier to this incident, the local Congress unit had warned that an agitation would be launched if the accuse were not nabbed within 72 hours.
Police who were investigating the matter took into account many circumstances including any personal and political enmity.
