New Delhi: Indian Army chief Bipin Rawat on Saturday came down heavily on the Pakistan Army and acknowledged the fact that India needs to take stern action to avenge the barbarism both Pakistan Army and terrorists have been inflicting upon our country. He said that it is important for the neighbouring country to also feel the pain and it needs to understand at the same time that it needs to curb the terrorism menace. The Army chief continued saying that the government’s policy was clear and concise as it emphasised on terror and talks cannot go hand in hand. Speaking about the ongoing controversy regarding the Rafale deal, Rawat added that modern weapons are required by every force and the delay in the composition isn’t good for the forces. He stressed the fact that Indian forces need new weapons to keep up with the new technology. Hence, the buying of weapons continues.



Army chief Rawat also refrained from commenting on political issues. Although he said that the Army has been receiving full co-operation as they’ve been given freedom to carry out their operations. He added saying the result can be seen in terms of the situation in Kashmir and North-east.
