Arnab Goswami is back with Republic; says ‘will see you soon’

Arnab Goswami launches ‘Republic’ on social media, gets trolled anyway

New Delhi, April 15: Popular news anchor and former Editor-in-Chief of Times Now Arnab Goswami has announced his channel’s entry through a 45-second clip on the social media giant Twitter. His much-awaited venture Republic will be out soon and the popular figure himself has stated this in the short video, though he can only be heard and not seen.

In the video, he is seen saying, ” My dear viewer I have really really missed you. Through every minute of the last four months, I have been itching to speak directly to you. I have been hearing those on-air who have forgotten all about you.”  In his own voice over he continued, “I thought I would let you know that it’s only a matter of time now. I am working day and night with my team to make this dream happen and this dream is for each one of you.” “I am coming back, I will see you soon,” he concluded.

Last year, in November, senior journalist Arnab Goswami resigned as the Editor-in-Chief of Times Now and was missed by his viewers on the prime time show ‘The Newshour’. Arnab then, post his resignation, gave the reason for starting his own venture. Following this Rahul Shivshankar was asked to step into his shoes.

Recently, in an interview to News 24, Arnab revealed the reason for resigning from Times Now and said he wanted to run a media house which is totally unbiased. He stated that now has gained independence from fake media. Talking about Times Now channel, he said, he wasn’t allowed in the studio. ” Before I left Times Now, I was told you can’t do the program and I wasn’t even allowed to enter my own studio. I was stopped from entering the studio I built,” added Arnab.

Goswami in media got a break at The Telegraph in Kolkata. In 1995, he was roped in by NDTV. After that, in 2006, he joined Times Now as the Editor-in-Chief. His show News Hour was one of the hated and one of the most loved prime time show. This show used to garner the maximum revenues for Times Now.
