Arnab Goswami’s media venture ‘Republic’ to launch on January 26

Republic will be a news channel called 'Republic' that will go live before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Mumbai, Dec 16: Journalist and talk show host Arnab Goswami is all set to launch his new venture Republic. As per reports it will be a news channel called ‘Republic’ that will go live before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. As per popular beliefs Republic will be a news channel and will be launched on January 26 (Republic Day)

As per a Business Standard report, Swamy speaking at the 10th anniversary of IEEMA (Indian Electronic Equipment Manufacturer’s Association), the apex body for the power equipment industry, Swamy said Republic will launch on January 26.

Arnab Goswami also said that Republic will be a global media venture, ‘parallel to the BBC and CNN.” Goswami resigned from Times Now after being the editor-in-chief for ten years. ALSO READ: Arnab Goswami’s new venture to be called Republic

Republic would be primarily based in Mumbai and the media owner would be based out of Bengaluru. A major TV distribution network, influential advertising and media buying group backed Goswami in making Republic reality. All reporters in Republic are reported to Indians, contrary to popular beliefs.

After Goswami’s exit, Rahul Shivshankar took over as the Editor-in-Chief of Times Now. Goswami resigned from Times Now after working with the channel for 10 years. Goswami’s ‘The News Hour’ which was quite popular among his fans brought the channel over 60 per cent of its revenue.  Goswami was also know for the interviews he conducted on ‘Frankly Speaking’ for the same channel. Goswami was also the President, News, of Times Now and ET Now.
