New Delhi, April 26: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday took to Twitter to congratulate the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on its massive victory in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Elections 2017. Kejriwal also said that he was looking forward to working with the MCD for a better Delhi. “I congratulate BJP on their victory in all 3 MCDs. My govt looks forward to working with MCDs for the betterment of Delhi,” he tweeted soon after the results for the MCD Elections were announced.

The BJP won 184 seats in the 270-seat MCD while the AAP won just 46. The BJP won all three corporations – East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC), North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) and South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).

Kejriwal’s tweet came even as his party yet again questioned the Electronic Voting Machines over the BJP’s victory.

Addressing the media after the MCD election results, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that it was hard for him to believe that the BJP has won. “It is hard to believe that the party that littered Delhi has won the MCD polls,” Sisodia said. Alleging EVM tampering yet again, Sisodia said, “BJP leaders had written books on EVM tampering ,now same leaders saying EVMs are fine.” Sisodia also took to Twitter, raising questions on EVMs. He added that the party doesn’t care even if it is made fun of for questioning EVMs.

AAP leader Gopal Rai also raised doubts at EVMs and said that this was not Modi wave, but EVM wave.

Kejriwal had on Monday told the AAP workers to be ready for a movement if exit poll results for the MCD elections come true. The exit polls had also predicted a thumping victory for the BJP.
