New Delhi, April 11: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that all is well between him and AAP leader Kumar Vishwas. Clarifying his stand on corruption, he said that the AAP leadership took action against its own ministers and MLAs. He added that Vishwas should come forward and apprise the party if it didn’t take action against complaints.

In an interview with India News, he said that he would ask Kumar Vishwas about the reason for his anger against the party. Lauding Kumar Vishwas’ initiative, he said what the poet-turned-politician had said in the video was above party politics. Kejriwal dismissed reports of a rift between him and Kumar Vishwas, saying he is family. “Kumar Vishwas is a family member. His wife and my wife are friends,” he told the news channel.

Kumar Vishwas had tweeted a video in which he launched a veiled attack on the AAP leadership, saying the party shielded its own corrupt leaders.

“If after riding the plank of anti-corruption to form a government in Delhi, your own people indulge in corruption and if you(the leader) try to save them and issue no statements, people will question you,” the Indian Express quoted him from the video.

On Delhi government’s work

Arvind Kejriwal said that his own government worked against various mafias afflicting the city. He said Manish Sisodia has broken the education mafia by improving the condition of government schools in Delhi. He said the deputy chief minister has not allowed private schools to raise the fee for the past two years. “The newly constructed government schools have swimming pools,” he claimed. Arvind Kejriwal also lauded health minister Satyendra Jain.

Rajouri garden

On the Rajouri Garden bypoll debacle, he said that the people were angry due to Jarnail Singh’s resignation to contest Punjab Assembly elections. He said both him and the party wanted him to contest in Punjab and people have clearly not taken it well. He said people have shown their anger through results.

On MCD polls

Arvind Kejriwal said that the BJP is asking for votes in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who wouldn’t govern the MCD. He said the people of Delhi would have to understand that MCD was being run by the BJP for the last 10 years and that is the reason for garbage in Delhi’s streets. He said it was their job that they had not been doing.
