PM Modi is expected to address the party MPs explaining the reason for his fast. He had earlier blamed the Congress party for practicing alienating politics.
Earlier, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had slammed PM Modi saying, “Now that’s really cute …. just one day fast… against himself.” The Congress party had also asked the PM to apologise for showing disrespect to the House.
“This is a farce of a fast by Prime Minister Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The fast should be to seek an apology from the children whose lives have been jeopardised due to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) scams. They (BJP) should tender an apology to the Dalits,” Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said.
The Congress party on Monday led his party to a nationwide fast on a list of issues targetting PM Modi. However, the party was left in an embarrassing situation after a picture of Delhi Congress leaders eating ‘chhole bhature’ started circulating.
