Patna, November: Asaddudin Owaisi’s party All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) failed to debut in Bihar 2015 assembly elections. The party had contested on six seats in Bihar, mostly their candidates focused on pockets where minorities voters are present.
The AIMIM has fielded all of his six candidates from the Seemanchal region and by late Sunday evening the total number of votes party had received is 80,203. The only candidate of AIMIM, Aktaul Iman, who fielded from Kochadhaman was trailing with 18,000 votes by late Sunday evening. On Sunday, the grand alliance formed under the leadership of former Bihar chief minister, Nitish Kumar, won 179.
Owaisi, who is trying to build his parties foundation in Bihar, was heavily rejected by the people of Bihar due to his tone on communal politics.
Soon after Owaisi failed to start its innings in Bihar, he said, that the defeat of BJP-led NDA in Bihar was a ‘personal defeat’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Owaisi said, “The most important point in this election is that this is a personal defeat for Modi. Because, never in independent India’s history, have we seen a sitting Prime Minister getting so involved and addressing more than 35 public meetings.
Owaisi, the Lok sabha MP from Hyderabad, thanked the people of Seemanchal area dominated by Muslim majority for voting him and reportedly said that he will try to strengthen his party in the state.
During the rally in Bihar elections, Akbaruddin Owaisi, younger brother of Asaduddin was also booked by the Bihar police for allegedly making an inflammatory speeches.
Sunday’s people mandate had shown that Amit Shah and Asaduddin Owaisi failed to divide people of Bihar over hate politics.
Nationalist Congress Party, also failed to win single seat in Bihar. Tariq Anwar, senior NCP leader and a former Member of Parliament, too played minority card however it didn’t turned in his party favour at all.
Observers believe that Owaisi, whose politics is largely based on polarising minority community has only hopes in bipolar states where Congress is unable to perform. Where Congress is strong or any other options are available, MIM has zero hopes.
