Assam: 7 Killed, Over 20 Injured After Bus Falls Into Pond

The injured have been rushed to the nearby hospital and the rescue operation is underway.

New Delhi: At least 7 people died and more than 20 were left injured after an Assam State Transport Corporation bus lost its control and fell into a pond in Assam, news agency ANI reported on Saturday. The incident took place between Guwahati and  Mukalmua.

Recently, three persons were drowned and at least 11 others went missing after an overloaded motorised country boat capsized in the Brahmaputra river near Guwahati after hitting a rock.

In August, 15 coaches of a goods train were derailed near Digaru Railway Station in Assam. The incident had affected the movement of trains in the route. However, no casualties or injuries were reported. In a similar incident in July, a bogie of a goods train derailed near the Akbarganj railway station in Amethi, affecting rail traffic.
