Guwahati, March 12: The state of Assam will present its budget on Monday, which will be telecast on tablets available for MLAs in the Assembly. This will the first time that government will draft the budget while live streaming the session on Twitter and Facebook. The details of the budget will be presented to MLAs digitally.
Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the MLAs will be able to access the tablets during cut motion and discussions.
The Finance Ministry of Assam had sought suggestions from the masses regarding provisions of the annual budget. More than a 1,000 people have participated in this initiative and have made suggestions for incorporation.
The journalists will also be given 8GB pen drive on which the postulates of Budget will be uploaded. The entire budget will be available on Google Play Store.
“For citizens who are on the move and may not have the time to watch the live-stream on TV or social media, the budget will be available on the Google app,” Sarma was quoted as saying by Times of India.
