Assam: Five persons were on Thursday killed by United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) terrorists in Bishnoimukh village near Dhola-Sadiya bridge in Tinsukia district. The incident took place around 7 PM. The victims have been identified as Shyamlal Biswas, Ananta Biswas, Abhinash Biswas, Subal Biswas and Dhananjay Namsudra. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee condemned the killing of five people by ULFA. Banerjee further questioned if the attack was the outcome of the recent National Register of Citizen (NRC) development. “We strongly condemn the attack in Tinsukia & killing of Shyamlal Biswas, Ananta Biswas, Abhinash Biswas, Subodh Das. Is this the outcome of recent NRC developement? We’ve no words to express our deep sorrow to grieving families. Perpetrators must be punished at earliest,” Mamata Banerjee told ANI. Home Minister Rajnath Singh took to Twitter to criticise the attack. “Shocked & pained by the killing of J&K State BJP leader Sh. Anil Parihar & his brother. My heart goes out to the bereaved family. Spoke to Advisor to J&K Governor, Sh Vijay Kumar regarding the incident. The police will leave no stone unturned to bring the perpetrators to justice,” Rajnath Singh tweeted.
