New Delhi: At least two people died and three when a truck overturned on a car near Vashisht Police Station Police Station in Guwahati, news agency ANI reported on Monday. All the two passengers were charred to death and could not be identified yet. Further investigation is underway.

The incident comes days after a seven-year-old child was hit by a car as he tried to cross the road on India’s longest bridge. Reports had claimed that the child was immediately rushed to the nearby Astha hospital which referred him to Assam Medical College.

Notably, this was the second accident on the Bogibeel bridge. The first accident took place on the inaugural day when two vehicles collided. Witnesses had said that both the private cars coming from two different directions lost their control and collided. Fortunately, no one was injured in that mishap.

In October, a senior railway official died in a road accident on National Highway 31 near Rangia. Northeast Frontier Divisional Finance Manager, Alipurduar Division, Simranjeet Singh was traveling by car from Alipurduar in West Bengal to Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport in Guwahati when his vehicle collided with a parked truck at around 2 am, killing him on the spot, the sources had said.
