New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party Central Election Committee (BJP CEC) will meet on Thursday to decide upon the candidates for Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan Assembly Election 2018. Reportedly, the BJP CEC meeting will be attended by the Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Vasundhara Raje – chief ministers of both the states. Besides, the state units’ chiefs will also be in attendance. In Madhya Pradesh, the party has 166 seats in the 230-member House, while in Rajasthan, it has 160 seats in the 200-member House. The party is seeking a fourth straight mandate in the former. Also Read - Will Himanta Sarma Outplay Sonowal to Become Assam CM? Crucial Decision Today

The Election Commission of India (ECI) had announced dates for the Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan Assembly Election 2018 on October 6, along with the schedule of Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Telangana Assembly polls.

Madhya Pradesh will go to polls on November 28 whereas, Rajasthan will vote on December 7. The counting of votes in both the states is scheduled on December 11. The results will be announced on the same day along with Telangana, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh.

For the unversed, the tenure of the Madhya Pradesh 230-member House expires on January 7, 2019 while, that of 200-member Rajasthan House expires on January 20, 2019.
