    Rajasthan Assembly Election 2018: BJP candidate Yoonus Khan pitched himself in his electoral fight against Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot for Tonk seat in the state assembly polls and said, “I am a ‘sevak’, not a ‘pilot’.” Khan is the Transport and PWD Minister in Vasundhara Raje government. He has been fielded by the BJP in the Muslim-dominated Tonk assembly constituency, replacing the party’s sitting MLA Ajit Singh Mehta.

    Telangana Assembly Election 2018: Earlier in the day, the Telangana BJP had released manifesto for the poll-bound state. Meanwhile, the Congress is expecting a big jump in its tally by winning at least 75 seats in the 119-member assembly. Party’s state unit working president Ponnam Prabhakar Goud said there is a direct fight between the Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the BJP is no where in the picture for December 7 polls.

Assembly Election 2018 Live: With the Assembly elections in Rajasthan and Telangana around the corner, the campaign of both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress has reached a feverish pitch. Voting is scheduled for December 7 in both the states. While Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who is on a 2-day tour to the southern state, attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday accusing him of breaking every promise he had made, the BJP released party’s manifesto for the upcoming polls. Meanwhile, as the Congress released the ‘Jan Ghoshna Patra’ for Rajasthan polls promising farm loan waiver and free education to women and jobs to youth, BJP’s candidate from Tonk Yoonus Khan pitched himself in the electoral fight against Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot by saying, “I am a ‘sevak’, not a ‘pilot’”. In Telangana, the Congress president, while addressing a public meeting in Bhupalpally, said, “If the Prime Minister of India can forgive three lakh fifty thousand crore (Rupees) of 15 people…The richest people in the country, then he should be ready to forgive the loan of India’s farmers.” Also Read - Assembly Elections 2018: Congress Chief Ministers to Discuss Cabinet With Party Chief Rahul Gandhi

“We are not asking for any free gift for farmers; we are just saying that whatever you do, you treat everyone fairly. If you are treating the richest people in the country, and you are giving them a loan waiver, then you owe that to the farmers of the country,” he added. The Gandhi scion will be addressing public meetings at Armoor and Pargi at 2.30 PM and 4.30 PM, respectively.

The voting for Telangana Assembly Election 2018 and Rajasthan Assembly Election 2018 is scheduled for December 7. The counting of votes in both the states will be held on December 11, along with three other states – Mizoram, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. The polling in these states has already concluded.
