Mayawati pointed out that “the results show that people in states like Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh were totally against the BJP and its anti-people policies and as a result chose Congress due to lack of other major alternatives.”

In Rajasthan, Mayawati said, her party would support the Congress if need be. Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has already assured the Congress of support in Rajasthan. Her party has fared comparatively better in Rajasthan with six seats. The Congress has managed to get 99 seats and has fallen short of 1.

In Madhya Pradesh, the Congress got 114 seats while the BSP has 2, the number the Congress wants to get a majority in the 230-seat Assembly.

Meanwhile, the Congress delegation is set to meet the Madhya Pradesh Governor at 12 noon to stake claim to form the next government.
