This is not the first time such reports have gone viral. It is reported that in 2015, a headmaster in Odisha had declared a holiday in his school after coming across news of Vajpayee’s death. However, after the reports came out to be false, he was suspended by the district administration for carrying out a memorial without verifying the facts. The rumours of Vajpayee’s death are currently going viral on the messaging application, WhatsApp. These messages are being sent out from unknown sources.
