Attention Commuters! Heavy Traffic Jam On Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway; Check Details

Bengaluru: Heavy traffic jams were witnessed at NICE Road Junction at Kengeri on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway on Saturday due to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal-Secular’s (JDS) 10-day ‘Mysore Chalo’ padayatra. The padayatra started from Kengeri and will end in Mysore. The massive padayatra by the BJP and JDS has been organized to create awareness about the alleged multi-crore scams of the Mysuru Urban Development Authority and the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Schedule Tribes Development Corporation Limited.

The saffron party claimed that the Congress government in the state is involved in corrupt activities and is misusing public funds.

Karnataka BJP General Secretary P Rajeev stated that it is a protest against corrupt actions of the current Karnataka government.

“The Congress govt which was formed in Karnataka, from day one, has been engaged in corruption activities. Tax money is being used for election purposes. The whole cabinet is engaged in illegal and corrupt activities MUDA, diversion of SC, ST fund and misusing of government fund, Valmiki corporation (scam) amount has been used literally to purchase the liquor and car and gold so in this situation being an opposition party, BJP has taken this very seriously and today we are starting our Padayatra, Mysore Chalo,” he said.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar criticized the BJP’s allegation, stating that the saffron party is making an issue out of a non-issue.
“Congress wants to ask them what they have done in their tenure. It was the most scandalous government BJP ever had. They are doing padayatra for nothing, they are trying to make an issue out of a non-issue,” Shivakumar said.
