Atul Subhash suicide case latest update: Wife Nikita Singhania, relatives file anticipatory bail pleas in Allahabad High Court

Engineer Atul Subhash’s estranged wife, Nikita Singhania, along with her mother Nisha Singhania, brother Anurag Singhania, and uncle Sushil Singhania, have filed anticipatory bail pleas in the Allahabad High Court. These pleas were submitted following summons issued by Bengaluru City Police, which asked Nikita to appear before them within three days.

Subhash, a 34-year-old engineer, tragically took his own life in Bengaluru on Monday. In his suicide note, he accused his wife and her family members of harassment, leading to a case of abetment to suicide being filed against them.

No arrests made yet

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand stated on Friday that no arrests have been made so far in the suicide case of Atul Subhash. He mentioned that special police teams are actively searching for the accused. The Marathahalli police have filed an FIR based on the complaint from Subhash’s brother, and the investigation is being led by a police inspector. The case is being handled with great attention due to the public interest and the discussions surrounding it on social media and in society.

Earlier, reports suggested that the Karnataka Police had arrested Subhash’s mother-in-law and brother-in-law in connection with the case. The incident, which has sparked debates over the harassment of married men and the potential misuse of dowry laws, follows Subhash’s suicide on December 9.

Before his death, Subhash had mailed the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, and the Supreme Court, urging them to address the plight of harassed husbands and ensure justice. In his suicide note, Subhash also expressed his desire for his ashes to be poured into a gutter outside the court if his harassers were not held accountable.
