B.Tech from NIT, quit Bihar govt job, tragic story of IPS Harsh Bardhan who died in a road accident before his first posting

B.Tech from NIT, quit Bihar govt job, tragic story of IPS Harsh Bardhan who died in a road accident before his first posting

In a tragic incident, a young IPS officer was killed in a road accident. He was on his way to Hassan in Karnataka to join his first posting after completing his training. Harsh Bardhan Singh was 26-years-old. He had cracked UPSC 2023 and got selected for IPS. 

Harsh Bardhan Singh was a native of Saharsa district in Bihar. His father is posted as the SDM in the Devsar tehsil of Singrauli district, Madhya Pradesh. Harsh Bardhan completed his schooling in MP and also earned his B.Tech from NIT Indore.

Harsh Bardhan got a job in Bihar government and took training in Purnia. But, he also attempted UPSC and cleared it in his second attempt. He was appointed as Additional Superintendent of Police in Hassan.

According to reports, Harsh Bardhan’s car’s tyre burst just 10 kilometers from his destination, causing the vehicle to ram into a tree. He lost his life in the accident, while the driver sustained minor injuries.

Harsh Bardhan’s father lives in MP’s Rewa. Two generations ago, his family shifted to MP. Harshwardhan’s younger brother Yashwardhan has graduated from IIT Delhi and is preparing for UPSC examination. 

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav expressed condolences on Harshwardhan’s death, saying that the nation has lost a young talented IPS officer.
