New Delhi, April 19: The Supreme Court on Wednesday delivered its much-awaited judgement on the conspiracy charges against senior Bharatiya Janta Party leaders including Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharati in the Babri Masjid demolition case. The Supreme Court also said that it will hear the matter on a daily basis since the matter has already seen a long span of 25 years.
Ayodhya dispute played a pivotal role in a resurgence of the saffron party in the early years of 1990’s. After the Supreme Court’s judgement, the dreams of senior leaders like Lal Krishna Advani for the presidential post. Babri Masjid was demolished on the 6th December 1992 by a mob right-wing hindu militant activists. However, the court has decided to exempt former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Singh. Kalyan Singh is presently the Governor of Rajasthan. The demolition was followed by the riots in major parts of the country resulting in the killing of the many innocent people. The case also witnessed the death of Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackray, Acharya Giriraj Kishore, Paramhans Ramchandra and Moreshwar Saave.
