Constituency Wise Karnataka Election Results 2018 Latest Updates: Counting for the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2018 took place today. The counting of votes for the election for the 224-seat Karnataka Assembly Polls began at 8 AM. While exit polls had predicted a hung Assembly in the state, the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were confident of getting absolute majority. Vishwanath Iranagouda Patil, who had won the Bailhongal seat in 2013 on a KJP ticket has been fielded by the BJP this election. The Congress has fielded Koujalagi Mahantesh Shivanand while the JDS has fielded Shankar Bharamappa Madalagi on this seat. Saundatti Yellamma has been a BJP seat for the past two elections and the party has fielded its two-time winner Vishwanath Chandrashekhar Mamani here. The Congress and the JDS have fielded Vishwas Vasant Vaidya and Doddagouda Fakeeragouda Patil respectively.
The Congress has been winning the Ramdurg seat since the past two elections in Karnataka. Two-time winner Ashok Mahadevappa Pattan of the Congress has been pitted against Mahadevappa Shivalingappa Yadawad and JDS’s Javeedsab M on this seat. The Mudhol seat has been a BJP stronghold since 2004. BJP’s three-time winner Govind Makthappa Karajol is fighting yet again against Congress’s Bandiwaddar Satish Chinnappa and JDS’s Shankar N Nayak. In Terdal, the fight is between Congress’s 2013 winner Umashree, BJP’s Siddu Savadi and JDS’s Basappa K Konnur.
