New Delhi: Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram raised a pertinent doubt on Monday, over the recently concluded India’s ‘pre-emptive air strike’ across three terror camps in Pakistan- who earmarked the number of casualties in the attack?
Former finance minister pointed that if the Indian Air Force Vice Air Marshal refused to comment or divulge information on the number of ‘terrorists killed’ in the Indian strike, then how come there are reports of at least 300 casualties?
‘Opposition bashing’, P Chidambaram’s choice of words come a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked NDA’s political adversaries for demanding proof of the air strikes in Balakot at the Sankalp rally in Patna.

PM Modi on Sunday tore into Opposition by shaming them into ‘questioning the armed forces’ and weakening their morale at a time when India is still in mourning of Pulwama attack martyrs.
At the Sankalp rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that Opposition was demanding evidence of Indian Air Force-led ‘pre-emptive air strikes’ in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Balakot- thereby pleasing Islamabad.
Strengthening his attack furtheron, PM Modi added, “The constituents of ‘ Mahaadulteration ‘ live just for their selfishness, no one cares for them. If there is “great adulteration” in the country, there would not be judgment nor welfare of the poor. The tendency of these people is to develop, not to develop the country.”
On the other hand, BJP national president Amit Shah at a rally in Gujarat on Sunday also avowed that nearly 250 terrorists were killed in the Balakot attack carried out by the IAF.
“After the Uri attack, the army did a surgical strike. After the Pulwama attack, people said there could not be a surgical strike… But the Modi government carried out an airstrike, and more than 250 terrorists were killed without the IAF suffering any losses,” Shah was quoted at the event.
