Ahmedabad, Dec 13: Bapunagar, Amraiwadi, Dariapur, Jamalpur-Khadia, Maninagar Assembly constituencies are set to witness a tough contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC) in the Gujarat Assembly elections 2017. Bapunagar, Amraiwadi, Dariapur, Jamalpur-Khadia, Maninagar Assembly constituencies fall under Ahmedabad Lok Sabha constituency. All of these will go to polls on December 14, in Phase 2 of Gujarat Assembly elections 2017. The seats will see a tough fight amongst several independent, national and regional parties too.
Constituency number 49, Bapunagar, will go to polls on December 14. The BSP has fielded Sendar Vikramkumar Vaktavarmal, the Congress has announced Patel Himmatsinh Prahladsinh and the BJP has declared Rajput Jagroopsinh Girdansinh as their candidates from the seat. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Pathan Amjadkhan Junedkhan will also contest the polls. The results of this seat will be announced on December 18. The seat was won by the BJP candidate Jagrupsinh Girdansinh Rajput against INC candidate Shyani Dhirubhai Thakarshibhai in 2012.
Amraiwadi, constituency number 50, will go to polls on November 14. The BJP has fielded Patel Hasmukhbhai Somabhai ( H. S. Patel ) from this seat whereas, the Congress and the BSP have announced Chauhan Arvindsinh Vishvanathsinh ( Arvind Chauhan ) and Rabari Bhikhabhai Mafabhai as their candidates, respectively. The seat is currently held by Hasmukhbhai Somabhai Patel of the BJP. He had defeated INC’s Gadhvi Bipinbhai Gopalbhai in 2012. The results of this seat will be announced on December 18.
Constituency number 51, Dariapur, will see contest between BJP’s Bharat Barot and Congress’s Shaikh Gyasuddin Habibuddeen. The JD(U) has also fielded its candidate from the seat. Dariapur will got to polls on December 14 and the results on this seat will be announced on December 18. The seat is currently held by Gyasuddin Habibuddin Shekh of the INC. He had defeated the BJP candidate Bharat Barot in 2012.
Jamalpur Khadia
Jamalpur Khadia, constituency number 52, will go to polls on December 14. The results on this seat will be announced on December 18. The seat is currently held by BJP’ Bhushan Ashok Bhatt who had defeated INC’s Samirkhan Vajirkhan Sipai IN 2012. In the Gujarat Assembly elections 2017, the BJP has fielded Bhushan Ashok Bhatt and the INC has announced Imran Yusufbhai Khedawala. The BSP has declared Javed Abdulali Qureshi as its candidate.
Constituency number 53, Maninagar, will go to polls on December 14. For the Assembly Elections 2017, the BJP has fielded Sureshbhai Patel and the INC has announced Sweta Brahmbhatt. The results on this seat will be announced on December 18. The seat is currently held by BJP’s Patel Sureshbhai Dhanjibhai (Suresh Patel) who had won it against Congress’s Jain (Kella) Jatin Vijay (Advocate) in the 2012 Gujarat Assembly elections.
The results of the phase 1 and phase 2 Gujarat Assembly elections 2017 will be announced on December 18.
