Bengaluru, Mar 27: A 35-year-old Madrassa teacher has been arrested o the charges of sexually assaulting a 12-year-boy. The accused, Mohammed Abdul Zuber, was booked on Monday under the provisions of Pocso Act as well as IPC section 377 (unnatural sex) for sexually assaulting the boy, a class IV student, several times for last 10 months. A complaint was filed by the boy’s parents after he told his grandmother of the continuous sexual abuse. Alarmed by the complaint, his grandmother told the boy’s parents who filed a complaint against the madrassa teacher. “Zuber used to take the boy to his residence in Shivajinagar at a room provided to him by his employer in Avalahalli. Both the accused and the boy have been subjected to medical examination,” a police officer was quoted as saying by Times of India. The police said that the boy has been abused on several occasions for over 10 months. The Arabic teacher used to threaten the boy with dire consequences if he spoke to anyone about the sexual abuse. Zuber, the accused, has been working in the madrassa for last four years, according to a report.

Police said that nearly 60 students study at the madrassa where the incident took place. Police are yet to ascertain if Zuber was involved in sexually abusing other children as well.
