Bengaluru Rains to Continue Till June 9; Flood Alert Issued For Low-lying Areas
The alert state that low lying areas in five of the eight zones in the city are vulnerable to flooding.

Bengaluru, Jun 4: Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) on Sunday issued a flood forecast for the city of Bengaluru in the next 24 hours. Areas which are likely to be affected are: Rajarajeshwari Nagar zone, East zone, South zone, Mahadevapura zone and Bommanahalli zone.
The alert state that low lying areas in five of the eight zones in the city are vulnerable to flooding. “According to the forecasted rain, flood vulnerable locations in Rajarajeshwari Nagar zone, East zone, South zone, Mahadevapura zone and Bommanahalli zone are expected to get severe inundation,” a media communication received from the Centre said.
The centre has also alerted about possible moderate inundation in vulnerable locations of West zone and Dasanapura zone.

The city is likely to receive moderate to heavy rain till June 9, an earlier warning issued by Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre said.
Bengaluru, on Saturday, recorded 19mm of rain and witnessed waterlogging in many areas.
